dark fairytale cyberpunk music in Belchertown, MA THIS FRIDAY [28 Apr 2010|09:38pm]

parallel_rose
Psyche Corporation, a dark cyberpunk/steampunk band from NYC is coming to perform in Belchertown, MA this Friday. The music combines old mythologies with a strange world overtaken by an unorthodox worship of dreams made possible by neural implants that allow wearers to download dreams from the internet.

The frontwoman of Psyche Corp. happens to be a real live biomedical engineer, who does research on growing replacement body parts.

We've previously performed at a lot of alternative events, scifi conventions, renaissance faires, and pagan-friendly events such as Wicked Faire and Midsummer Magick Faire and will be performing again May 14-16 at Steampunk World's Fair in New Jersey.

SHOW INFO:
Date: Friday, April 30, 2010
Time: 9:00pm - 11:00pm
Location:
Black Moon Music Lounge
37 State Street
Belchertown, MA

Ourcon 17: Tyranny of the Dice! [27 Mar 2007|03:45pm]

then_rob_said
Just want to let everyone know that Modern Myths will not be vending at Ourcon 17: Tyranny of the Dice. Also, Pre-registration ends on April 1st. Make sure you get a sheet filled out and turned in, as it will save you money! Pre-registration rates are $7 for students and $10 for Non-Students. Game Master Applications and Pre-registration sheets can be located at x-9 Games, Phoenix Games, Griffin Games, Modern Myths and the GHL office at 423A in the Umass Student Union. I can also e-mail people those sheets. If you want to run any type of game at Ourcon, fill out a GM application. If you run one game, you get half off your admission. If you run two games, then you get in free. We are looking for all types of games, from role-playing games, to board games and card games. If you want to run something, let us know and we can make it happen.

Ourcon 17: Tyranny of the Dice! [30 Mar 2007|10:40pm]

then_rob_said
Hello Everyone!

This is a ubiquitous message being posted all around the internet to let people that “Ourcon 17: Tyranny of the Dice” at Umass Amherst for 2007 is happening!

My name is Robert Hagelstein, and I am the GHL Vice President for 2006-2007. I have been going around to stores inviting vendors to sell at Ourcon. Some people are under the impression that Ourcon was cancelled. These are slanderous lies! Let me make it clearer.

SLANDEROUS LIES!

Ourcon 17 is happening, and it is happening the 1st Weekend of May. Let me break it down for you.

When?

May 4th-6th, 2007

Where?

Umass Amherst Campus Center Basement

Not only that, but we are doing pre-registration! That’s right! Here’s the Regular door prices:

$10 Students
$15 Non-students

But with Pre-registering, you save money!

$7 Students
$10 Non-Students

You can also register for an optional barbeque dinner for Saturday night! The Dinner will include Hamburgers, Hot dogs, Salads, brownies, and so forth! Vegetarian options are available! Prices for that are $5 Students and $7 Non-students.

Now where do you get Ourcon Pre-registration forms? I’m glad you asked! You can pick up Ourcon registration forms at the GHL office in the Student Union on Campus. Our office is 423A on the second floor, right across from the SGA office. As of this message, pre-registration forms are also available at X-9 Games, Phoenix Games, and Griffon Games. You can return completed forms to the GHL office, or at any of those gaming locations!

Those same locations have GM applications for anyone who wants to run a game! Those forms are good for any type of game, be it a RPG, board game, card game, mini game, etc. GM applications can be dropped off there as well.

The GHL also has several online mediums. We have a Facebook entitled “GHL”, and a livejournal community entitled “Umassghl”. Information will be posted there as well.

If anyone has any questions regarding Ourcon 17: Tyranny of the Dice, I can be reached at then_rob_said@hotmail.com.

Killer / Assassins [13 Oct 2004|01:46am]

arcano
Now that October break's over, I'd like to start a game of the game known by some as Killer as by others as Assassin. For For those of you who don't know the game, it's basically the first and most simple LARP. Each player is given the name of another player, and has to off hir without being seen. There's a plethora of ways to manage this, from knives and guns to deadly animals and giant boulders dropped from a balcony (all safely simulated by soft real-world objects), but the most interesting and safe methods of offing people are assorted time and pressure bombs and poison. This is one of those games that you play 24 hours a day, though certain rules to be implemented to let you be able to do schoolwork.

Anyhow, the rules are pretty simple and mainly consist of a list of legal methods of killing, plus a few extra precautions. If anyone wants, I can e-mail them in .doc form.

For those of you who have palyed, I wanted to start a club but kinda forgot about it. Hopefully, we can get an informal group going and possibly play some team or scenario games. I've got rules for the vampire version, which I'm eager to try out. :3

I know some of you are members in several Massachusetts-related communities, and I apologize for that.

What I'm getting at here is the fact that my friend Alison and I are getting together a cast to perform Rocky Horror in western Mass. We're looking at rehearsing and performing in the Springfield area, or possibly Amherst/Northampton. If you're interested in auditioning, or would like to help out, contact one of the following people:

Cora [AKA, me]:
email: catsareevil@hotmail.com

Alison [the Big Cheese]:
email: gothinbluejeans@netzero.net

Will [helper extrordinaire/really funny dude]:
email: PinstripCyrus@hotmail.com

If anyone's interested, it'd be a big help. Thanks in advance. Also, we're actually doing auditions this Saturday, so if you could make it out to Springfield sometime then, please note that in your reply.
